The Canada wide CPR strike that begins this weekend should not effect the operation of the West Coast Express on Monday.

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – TransLink says it doesn’t expect a possible strike at CP Rail to affect your commute on the West Coast Express next week. But it has developed a back up plan, just in case. The two share the tracks between Downtown Vancouver and Mission.

TransLink spokesperson Chris Bryan said the regional transit agency has been assured by CP Rail that WCE trains won’t be disrupted. “They have managers who can provide signalling services in the event the union walks off the job,” he told The Tri-City News.
