Thank you for making the first day of our 10th season amazing. We had strawberries, kettle corn, ice cream, pierogies, tacquitos and more! 50 vendors today including 5 new PoCo startups. Great energy today thanks to Todd Brown – Songs

We have lots planned for the Port Coquitlam Farmers Market this Thursday! Tons of vendors that “make it, bake it or grow it” will be here, selling their best products. Bike to the Market and receive a $2 coupon to use at any vendor! You can park your bike at the TREK Bikes Valet Station and receive a FREE tune-up from a mobile mechanic while you shop. Our Chef at the Market this week will be Kwikwetlem Bannock Queen, Kristina Joe. She will be demonstrating how to prepare bannock, this original trail food. Forget about trail mix, this is the perfect snack for your next hiking or biking adventure! The Kids Korner will have a fun activity planned and Parnell Reichert entertains on stage.

It’s all happening in Leigh Square next to the City Hall in downtown Port Coquitlam this Thursday, from 3-7.

Editorial: Support farmers, save the land

If we don’t support B.C. farming, we won’t have an agricultural sector and farmland will be taken over by development. Port Coquitlam is celebrating 10 years of its farmers’ market while Coquitlam Farmers Market for fresh fruits, vegetables and homemade goods has been a community fixture for even longer.
