- Artist-In-Residence Program
The Michael Wright Art Gallery (MWAG), and Outlet Gallery at Leigh Square feature a rotating program of exhibitions by local and regional artists. The exhibitions advance knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the visual arts by integrating art into everyday life and contributing to the cultural landscape of Port Coquitlam. The gallery welcomes proposals from artists for exhibitions in all media and subject matter, including solo or group shows of two or more artists.
Artist-In-Residence Program
The Leigh Square Artist-in-Residence program is a self-directed residency offering artists the opportunity to research, develop and produce new or ongoing bodies of work, with dedicated studio time in a creative environment. Residencies are for artists or artist collectives working in the visual, performance, literary, and musical arts. In exchange for studio space, artists facilitate public workshops and outreach programs for the local community as part of their residency. The duration of the residency is four months for the following three terms: Jan 1 – April 30, May 1 – Aug 31, Sept 1 – Dec 21, 2019. Artists are required to commit a minimum of 20 hours a week and are supported with an honorarium of $850 dollars for their time.
