Approximately 150 people attended the Kwikwetlem Business Park Open House held on Wed, October 3 at the Coquitlam ECBC Community Hall. They viewed displays on key aspects of the Business Park project including the Health and Wellness Centre. They also learned more about Kwikwetlem First Nation history and plans for the future, and had an opportunity to meet the team and get their questions answered. Attendees also enjoyed traditional First Nations foods and most entered a feedback contest for the chance to win one of four Ipads.
KFN Chief Ron Giesbrecht said “the Open House was an outstanding success. It allowed our team to get to know more people in the community and in turn, it allowed people to learn more about the Business Park and the benefits it will bring to the Tri-Cities area. Everyone who attended seemed genuinely pleased with our displays and information and the opportunity to speak directly with our staff. Our project is key to the future success of Port Coquitlam and the Tri-Cities. It will create 5000 new jobs and generate about $6.5 million annually in new taxes to the City of Port Coquitlam. We’re pleased that people took time to attend the Open House and we’re very pleased with the growing level of support for the project.”
